Job Description:
The Bartender is responsible for serving guests at Monty's bar, in the Grille Room or Banquet Bar. The Bartender will fulfill drink and food orders for the dining room and bar, monitoring the cash drawer at the bar and performing alcohol inventories when necessary to assist with maintaining proper inventory levels. The Bartender will also assist with ordering beverage products when needed. He/She will be responsible for following proper policies and procedures as outlined in the provided F&B training manual.
Responsibilities Include:
Adheres to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
Sets up assigned bars; requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce.
Maintains stock, prepares, cures and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality.
Greets guests in a courteous, friendly manner at all times.
Serves food and beverages and must be knowledgeable of all menu and beverage products served.
Takes and/or processes orders for drinks; mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes; practices prudent portion control.
Checks guests at the bar for proper identification.
Detects and acts upon guest inebriation as trained. Demonstrates knowledge of liquor laws.
Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies validity of charges, records charges making sure they are properly executed.
Locks up and stores all beverage product, food, equipment items, deposits and cash drops; secures bank.
Performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards; keeps work area clean and organized.
Arranges bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in the bar area.
Washes and sterilizes stemware.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
Previous bartending experience in a restaurant or country club setting.
Attention to cleanliness and safety.
Ability to handle cash transactions and operate a point of sale system.
Positive attitude and works well under pressure.
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Able to deliver high quality work unsupervised.
Good telephone speaking and listening skills.
Flexibility, ability to work extended or irregular hours to include nights, weekends and holidays. Ability to be on your feet for long extended hours. Temperature extremes (such as working outside), excessive noise. Must be able to lift up to 30lbs in weight.
