The Housekeeping Assistant Manager will provide support to the Director of Housekeeping. Job DescriptionnEnsure service and production is provided in the proper manner, consistent with standards of a Forbes Five Star Luxury HotelnComplete, in a timely fashion, all schedules and monitor staffing to ensure maximum service, quality, efficiency, and productivity. Also to monitor fluctuations in occupancy so that schedules may be adjustednMonitor daily assignments to ensure that proper quotas and standards are maintainednEstablish safe working conditions and practicesnParticipate actively (as required) in physical inventories of all uniforms, linens (including food and beverage) and suppliesnWork directly with outside contracted companies when on hotel premisesnOrganize and participate in meetings with all staff on a regular basisnEnsure all employees are exposed to constant refinement, training and development on an ongoing basisnAssist with the update of all training material as needednEnsure all daily and weekly payroll reports and sign-in sheets are completed and submitted in a timely mannernOversee the start of housekeeping shifts in the morning and eveningnParticipate in the monitoring of cost management as it pertains to inventories, issue of supplies, labor and energynMaintain good working relationships with all Department and Division Heads in the Hotel at all timesnMake scheduled checks of the hotel, noting deficiencies and ensuring proper follow-up proceduresnParticipate in a consistent rooms inspection/Quality Control program which is monitored by the Director of HousekeepingnSupervise the Laundry/Valet Department and be able to monitor standards pertaining to guest service, operational efficiency, safety, productivity, quality and personnelnThe ability to become familiar with the operation of the Uniform Room and monitor the maintenance of standards in the areanReview all work orders submitted and ensure all orders are handled in a timely and professional mannernAssist in periodically reviewing, re-evaluating, and revising departmental procedures and job descriptions, supplies, equipment and labor standards, as needednEnsure all security policies and procedures are observed in all departments and areas of responsibilities (e.g., keys, linen room, linen closets, storage closets.)nAssume operational responsibilities in the absence of the Director of HousekeepingnPerform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel managementnJob RequirementsnAt least 2 years previous Housekeeping management/supervisory experience in a luxury hotel environmentnCollege degree (preferred)nStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and knowledge of a property management systemnAbility to engage with the guestsnPrior Union experience a plusnGreat employee relations are necessarynStrong attention to detailnA positive attitude and ability to work well with a diverse staffnStrong leadership and customer service skillsnFlexible schedule including overnights and weekendsnMultilingual a plusnAbility to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment, luxury environmentnStrong communication and organizational skillsn Source: Hospitality Online,
