The DoubleTree by Hilton Cedar Rapids Convention Complex is looking for a HVAC Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team!

This 267 room hotel and convention complex is connected to the Alliant Energy PowerHouse, home to Cedar Rapids conventions and events. Located two blocks from Cedar Rapids Museum of Art and Paramount Theatre.

The ideal candidate will have general knowledge and understanding of general maintenance, a genuine passion to want to grow and develop their career in the engineering field, the ability to work quickly and effectively both alone or as part of a team, reliable and have good customer service skills. Previous experience with plumbing, HVAC and electrical is preferred.

This full-time position will pay $18.00 per hour and is requiring full availability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

What will I be doing?

As a HVAC Maintenance Engineer, you would be responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the facility in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:


Maintain, monitor, repair and conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the HVAC equipment and machinery.
Maintain the physical functionality and safety of the facility including, but not limited to, guest rooms, public space and heart-of-the-house areas.
Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery and/or equipment.
Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including, but not limited to HVAC work, electrical work, carpentry, and plumbing,
Conduct inspections for preventive maintenance needs.
Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention.
