Maintenance Generalist –
Shift Sunday-Wednesday or Thursday-Sunday (every Sunday is required)
12 hour shift –8pm -8am
Functions
Ÿ To maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture
Ÿ Receive training as required
Ÿ Perform various positions as required/assigned
Description
This position is responsible for general maintenance throughout the plant while adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Tasks
Must be able to use basic hand tools. Requires: basic mechanical or maintenance skills, knowledge in areas of welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics & plumbing, 1 year or more experience in welding and industrial maintenance, able to read & understand assignments, able to communicate orally & in writing, able to hear/respond to two-way radio, able to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet, able to stand for long periods of time, withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors, basic knowledge of math, able to use various electrical & pneumatic power tools & equipment. May monitor boiler and perform chemical test on boiler. May be required to read drawings & schematics of hydraulic & basic electrical systems. Must be certified to operate various pieces of gas/hydraulic motors/lifts. Performs duties such as welding, cutting, minor electrical repair, removing, replacement of motors, motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water & steam pipes, lines, & systems. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Willing to further education by outside training, company testing program & vendor training. Requirements
Applicants who have worked for Tyson three times will not be considered.
Must have at least 1 year maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
You must have 6 months of work history with one employer within the past 12 months.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills
Must have good oral communication skills to discuss issues with the Maintenance Supervisor
Must be able to understand information contained in Maintenance manuals.
