The
Missoula College
invites applications for a
Temporary Hospitality Manager
to oversee classroom scheduling, building scheduling, front-end restaurant management, front-end coffee shop management, recruiting and management of student employees, and external event management for the Missoula College. This position will handle building scheduling to include classroom scheduling each semester, scheduling meeting for staff and faculty, and scheduling/coordinating events with outside organizations. This position will coordinate with the Big Sky Culinary Institute (BSCI) director and UM Dining for catering needs. They will work with Facility Services to arrange for delivery and pick up of furnishings, making arrangements to have the facility cleaned and, when needed, assist with facility cleaning. They will coordinate staffing of the building during events and work with the UM Police to arrange parking. Costs of events are gathered and submitted to the Dean’s Office for billing purposes. Schedules of events are prepared and submitted to the UM Police on a weekly basis. This position will provide front-end management for the Blackfoot Café and Iris Coffee and will schedule and supervise student employees in coordination with the BSCI Director. They will work with BSCI faculty and students in serving lunch to the community. They will coordinate with UM Dining in delivering prepared food for the restaurant and UM Catering for special events. This position will also be responsible for customer satisfaction, developing positive relationships with internal and external groups, and building positive culture for the Missoula College community. This individual will also submit expenses for events to Dean’s Office for billing.
This position requires incumbent to develop a working knowledge of strategies for marketing and advertising at the Missoula College, the Blackfoot Café, and Iris Coffee. They will learn how to coordinate events including site visits with public clients to provide all logistical information of associated costs and room setups. They will also develop an understanding of how to coordinate with UM Dining and Facilities regarding furniture needs/placement for catered events. They will learn to communicate and work with the Facilities Services for delivery and pickup of additional furniture, setup, and cleaning after events. They will also learn to coordinate with UM to reserve special furnishings for events. They will develop a knowledge of coordinating staff for after-hours events and the time that the building needs to be locked and unlocked. They will also develop an understanding of UM’s policies and follow them when hosting events with alcohol.

Ability to frequently work with members of the community.
Minimum Required Experience
High School diploma and at least two (2) years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated organizational, time and project management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
