The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.nnApply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to equipment, buildings, bridges, and/or other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollersnApply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coatsnCalculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs, based on surface measurements and/or work ordersnCover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during paintingnFill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knivesnMix and match colors of paint, stain, or varnish with oil and thinning and drying additives in order to obtain desired colors and consistenciesnPolish final coats to specified finishesnRead work orders or receive instructions from supervisors in order to determine work requirementsnRemove fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to paintingnRemove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blastingnSmooth surfaces, using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, and/or sanding machinesnWash and treat surfaces with oil, turpentine, mildew remover, or other preparations, and sand rough spots to ensure that finishes will adhere properlynBake finishes on painted and enameled articles, using baking ovensnCut stencils, and brush and spray lettering and decorations on surfacesnErect scaffolding and swing gates, or set up ladders, to work above ground levelnSelect and purchase tools and finishes for surfaces to be covered, considering durability, ease of handling, methods of application, and customers' wishesnSpray or brush hot plastics or pitch onto surfacesnUse special finishing techniques such as sponging, ragging, layering, or faux finishingnWaterproof buildings, using water proofers and caulkingnGeneral maintenance dutiesnReports unsafe conditions to supervisor.nReports accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to supervisor.nProvides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.nAll team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. (Specific standards outlined in team member handbook).nAssists other Engineering Personnel when needed.nPerform any related duties as requested by supervisornnKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesnThe Hotel may consider equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience providing the knowledge, skills and abilities cited below, when applicablennExcellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply themnExcellent knowledge of treating and painting rusting metalnSolid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniquesnAptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)nAny combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
