Spire Hospitality, a fast-growing, private equity backed company managing 29 full service premium branded properties across the United States for Private Equity, REITs and High Net Worth Individuals, is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to oversee the accounting for Spire Hospitality and Joint Ventures.Responsibilities Will IncludenLead, coach, develop and train a team of accountantsnCollaborate and build relationships across all departments to ensure support as well as maintain efficient finance and accounting processnOversee monthly close process and provide accurate reports in a timely manner to stakeholdersnMonthly review of bank / balance sheet reconciliations, financial statements, cash flow analyses and intercompany activitiesnOversee lender compliance and reporting for all entitiesnMake decisions regarding compliance with GAAP and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging IndustrynReview acquisition purchase price allocations, opening balance sheets, debt modifications/ refinances, and other technical areas as needed.nEstablish and maintain systems and internal controls. Working with the V.P. of Accounting and Internal Audit to ensure compliance with all applicable Spire policies and proceduresnLead annual external audits for Spire and Joint VenturesnManage cash flow, funding of mortgages, and operating disbursementsnAssist with the acquisition/on boarding of new hotelsnParticipate in the recruiting, hiring, and training of Hotel Controllers/Directors of Finance and corporate staffnAdditional assignments as needed for special projectsnRequired Skills And ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have 10 years of accounting experience with at least 7 years of hospitality accounting experience and experience in public accounting. Previous experience as a Corporate Controller/ Director of Accounting is required. Bachelors’ degree in Accounting/Finance is required. This position requires strong time management skill set with a focus on meeting deadlines and having the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
