Position SummaryThe Catering Service Worker will organize, set up and deliver requested catering services to specific requested location or conference room. Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers. Provide customers with efficient and attentive service while exceeding the customer's expectations. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.General ResponsibilitiesnChecks Catering ordering website, to review requested customer services to be delivered, food and services needed, dates and times.nOrganizes each delivery timely, setting up all non-perishable items needed in advance.nDistributes needed food preparation requirements to each food department in advance.nDelivers requested food and beverage to the delivery location, setting up all food and beverage in a professional appearance and logical manner, ensuring all condiments and service ware are available as needed.nEnsures all services are cleaned up at the end of the meeting or requested pick-up time.nEnsures availability of any specialty linen, china and rental needs in advance.nMaintains organization of all daily and weekly services and associated needs, and communications with customers.nMaintains a clean and organized working environment and professional appearance.nFinalizes catering invoices and billing pertaining to delivered services.nMay serve as a point of contact for the customers, booking catering, answering questions and potential planning for future service needs.nMay assist with stocking food inventory.nMay carry and distribute supplies and equipment.nMay assist others in the preparation of foods and properly store food.nMay be asked to respond to complaints regarding food or service.nMay operate dishwasher or assist with washing dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots and pans.nAttends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.nComplies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.nReports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.nComplies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.nParticipates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments. nAttends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.nMay perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.nQualifications & RequirementsnWillingness to be open to learning and growing.nMaturity of judgment and behavior.nMaintains high standards for work areas and appearance.nMaintains a positive attitude.nAbility to work a flexible schedule helpful.nMust comply with any dress code requirements.nAttends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity.n Experience/Knowledge nHigh School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.n0 to 1 year related experience.n Skills/Aptitude nPresents self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.nAbility to maintain a positive attitude.nAbility to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.nMaintains a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives.nAbility to use a computer.nListens carefully to their customers' orders, explains drink and food items, and makes menu recommendations.n Physical Requirements nClose vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.nSignificant walking or other means of mobility.nAbility to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).nAbility to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.n Working Conditions (may add additional conditions specific to defined work location) nGenerally in an indoor setting; however, may supervise outside activities and events.nVarying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates.nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside activities.nThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.nSodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.PI167404647 Source: Hospitality Online,
