The role
The University’s Catering Services, which provides a diversity of services to students, staff and visitors, including catering, vending, bars, cafés, meeting rooms and events is located throughout the University. This post is primarily concerned with the service of food and drink through the University’s Café and Bars, run by the University’s Hospitality Service department. We have a wonderful team that generates a happy working environment.
What will you be doing?
Opening and closing cafes– we have ten cafes In total with variable opening/closing times
Being a Team Player
Flexible to working hours and tasks
Maintaining stock rotation
Contributing to the successful operation of the café & bar outlets
Maintaining a very high level of customer service
Placing daily food orders with Supervisors
Checking and signing for all deliveries from suppliers
Recording all sales transactions – **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Catering is a cashless service
Preparation and display of food and beverages to our operational procedures. This includes serving and clearing tables, making barista style drinks and serving alcoholic beverages.
Ensuring weekly cleaning, temperature and wastage sheets are correctly completed
We offer full training with our Essential Training Programme and Food Safety Level 2
You should apply if
Previous experience working as a Barista or within a coffee shop environment
Till operation experience
Good basic numeracy and literacy skills
Experience in retail environment
Additional information
Work pattern: 35 hours per week to be worked 5 days out of 7
Grade: B
