The mission of the F. David Fowler Career Center is to increase the number of business school students obtaining quality employment after graduation. In support of that mission, F. David Fowler Center is seeking an Employer Relations Consultant. This position reports to the Assistant Director, Employer Development Services. The Employer Relations Consultant works closely with employers who want to engage with
GWSB
talent. The primary focus of this position is to work with employers in all aspects of the employment relationship to facilitate the employment of
GWSB
students.
This position provides employer and alumni introductions to students to help them become market- and employer-ready. This position does not typically have direct reports but may schedule, train and supervise temporary staff or student workers. The core responsibility of this role is to provide employer introductions to students. This position also plays an integral role in the design, delivery and management of career and professional development programs, seminars and sessions (online and in-person), in order to educate students on career management methodology, and also assists with the collection and reporting of statistics on student employment outcomes. Additional responsibilities include providing relevant market insight to students, participating in career services events, and creating, developing, and maintaining relationships with industry-specific contacts. This position may also develop, deliver, and evaluate career development programs to build foundational career skills of students, and may conduct and/or customize meetings and presentations with students in person and through group workshops and classes. This role works with employers in all aspects of the employment relationship to facilitate the employment of students.
Key responsibilities are:
Consults with employers to determine the best recruiting plan for their unique needs.
Coordinates day to day employer activities (initiating new contacts, updating, scheduling and providing information to existing employers; coordinating with internal and external organizations to facilitate employer and career center needs).
Coordinates marketing and branding to promote employer events to students.
Hosts and monitors employer events to ensure employers receive red carpet service.
Ensures the posting and advertising for jobs & events with career coaches, student leaders, professors and web-based resources.
Creates and disseminates weekly newsletters containing on-campus recruiting updates.
Fosters relationships and collaborates with peers and colleagues, internal and external to the Fowler Career Center.
Facilitates the engagement of prospective employers with student organizations.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of experience in hospitality, sales, events, and/or customer service preferred.
Experience with database management (Symplicity, Salesforce, Resource Scheduler, etc.).
Understands the importance of timely, high quality customer service and enjoys making connections.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Enjoys working with diverse populations and building relationships.
Able to manage multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines to successfully facilitate campus events during recruiting season.
Professional demeanor and diplomacy.
