The Food Service Worker is responsible for food transport to the various food stations, set-up, execution, serving, customer service, breakdown, cleaning, taking and recording food temperatures, and overall food safety and sanitation procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times
Meet with the supervisor upon arrival to discuss shift set-up, and check out with supervisor before leaving to ensure duties are completed
Set up assigned area and maintains adequate supplies during shift
Constant cleaning, sweeping, mopping, etc. to ensure areas are always clean sanitized and disinfected
Replace glassware, dishes, silverware, and condiments as needed
You will check all food items for acceptability and appropriateness for diet order
Ensure all food items are held at the proper temperature
Will follow proper food handling techniques utilizing Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), ServeSafe, and facility policies and procedures;
Will neatly arrange and place hot and cold food items, appropriate condiments, desserts, beverages, and flatware in designated areas
Will report and discuss all system problems to immediate supervisor or manager
Perform “other” job related duties as assigned by management to achieve the established goals of the unit and campus community
Qualifications
Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and some Holidays
Must be a team player, and have willingness to assist others whenever needed
Excellent internal and external customer service skills
Ability to perform both written and verbal communication
Understand overall food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures
